Our Natural Environment

Fulbourn Forum engages in a number of activities that help to conserve our natural environment, and is allied to other groups with the same aims. We share news and consultations on environmental matters, including public consultations and reports.

Fulbourn Fen Nature Reserve

We support the working parties on the Fulbourn Fen Nature Reserve – see here for an interesting article about the reserve.

Rivers and Streams

We also have close links with the Wilbraham River Protection Society, as the streams and springs in Fulbourn connect to that watercourse.

Fulbourn Swift Group

Fulbourn has a colony of swifts, and we have an information page about them here.

Articles about our local environment.

Here is an interesting article in the Cambridge Independent, on Nature Recovery Networks including Fulbourn Fen. These seek to involve landowners, farmers and conservationists in planning for the future

And another article, from The Observer, on how the hot summer and mild autumn is affecting UK Wildlife. It features a walk around Fulbourn Fen with Conservation Officer Iain Webb
